The Commonwealth Workers Compensation Scheme is known as the Comcare Scheme. An injured worker’s compensation under this scheme is regulated by the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988. The Comcare Scheme covers Commonwealth employees and employees who work for a number of licensed corporations that currently cover more than 420,000 workers.
Who can make a Comcare Claim?
If you are injured at work and you are covered under the Comcare Scheme, you may have an entitlement to various heads of compensation for reasonable medical treatment expenses, loss of wages, permanent impairment lump sum compensation, non-economic loss, rehabilitation, aids and appliances, modifications and alterations.
